Blush Wars – By Terry vs Charlotte Tilbury

For me, blush is where it’s at. I would never consider my face done or finished without blush. EVER. I need that healthy flush of colour to look human. Blush is also a major weakness, I am a bit scared to actually tally up how many I have. Suffice to say, if I never entered/logged on to a makeup store I think I’d still be buried with some leftovers #stillnotgonnastopme

Today I wanted to show you two that I have been using a bit lately. One was love at first sight, the other took some getting to know you time before I knew.

Two pinks, both pretty with some glow. That’s pretty much how I like my blush. The first is the beautiful By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Blush in #5 Sexy Pink and the second is the Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Swish & Pop Blush in Love Glow.

Kicking off with the By Terry Terrybly Densiliss Blush in Sexy Pink. I was not sold on this one at first. Housed in a heavy metal casing there is no denying the beauty of this packaging and the stunning intricate detailing on the actual powder inside is just gorgeous. But upon using I was finding my regular blush brush a Wayne Goss (super super soft) wasn’t really picking up and distributing the product effectively. It seemed I was getting little colour payoff and the blush was not that great in the pigmentation department, dare I say it, I thought the blush was a little chalky. It wasn’t until I used a stiffer brush that I could see just how beautiful this blush was.

Its quite subtle on the skin, giving a really youthful light pink flush. In the pan it looks like there is some glittery particles but that does not really translate onto the face. I would actually say it’s quite a matte pink. There is a little reflection when the sun hits the skin in just the right spot but this is definitely far far from shimmery. It has become a bit of a handbag staple of late as I know I can touch up my cheeks with this and it’s not overpowering and it will pretty much go with anything I’ve got going on on the rest of my face.

Charlotte Tilburys Cheek to Chic Swish and Pop Blush (can the name be any longer- said in your best Chandler Bing voice) in Love Glow is one of the most stunning blushes I own. It really was love at first swipe. The idea is to swish your brush around the perimeter and apply and then just use the centre colour as a “pop” on the apples of your cheeks. I love applying it this way and I also love the effect just all swirled together when I’m being super lazy. Love Glow gives, as the name intends, the most gorgeous glow to the cheeks without any glittery bits.

Of all my blushes this one is top 5 material for sure. I used this consistently throughout summer and it barely looks like I’ve touched it, so great value there! I’ve yet to purchase another Charlotte Tilbury blush but I can feel that day coming…soon I suspect.

Final verdict? If I had to pick? Charlotte Tilbury all the way. But the real question is, which Charlotte Tilbury blush do I try next?
