Of all the posts in all the lands (bloglands that is) “Empties” posts rate top of the list for me. I love hearing about how something did or did not work for a certain person, if said person would re-purchase and of course if they would recommend. Now, I know what works for one person may or may not work for me, but it’s just so much more fun hearing about a persons thoughts once they have actually finished a products rather than just hearing initial thoughts on a once or twice application of a product.
So, I’ve been saving all of my empties for you and boy oh boy do I have a crapload. Shall we dig in?
Obviously I would not regularly have this many empties, but as this is the first post of its kind on this blog I’ve been collecting for a while.
Shall we first talk about these two little mask wonder pots? I have recently written about my love for the Chantecaille Jasmine & Lily Healing Mask so I will just say that this Holy Grail material. Despite the price I will forever have this in my stash. As I use mainly through the colder months and occasionally otherwise it lasts a really decent time. The Oskia Renaissance Mask is another that is just divine. It works to exfoliate and brighten the complexion and it smells.so.good. Like I want to eat it. But I won’t *raises eyebrows.
Repurchase? YES & YES & ALREADY DONE!
Here are just two of the four little samples I have had of the Chanel Hydra Beauty Micro Serum. Wow, I adore this serum. Like enough that I’m contemplating buying the full size. Unless I can convince the counter to chuck a couple more samples of this in my bag if I buy a lipstick or something. Maybe.
Repurchase? Unsure yet.
Again, I have posted about the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel, I will say, if you haven’t tried it already, what are you waiting for? Best of both world with this gel to oil cleanser. Brilliant cleanser, makeup remover, glow giver. If you follow me on instagram you will know that I post my skin routines most days and that Sunday Rileys Ceramic Slip is a repeat appearer. This is the perfect cleanser for me when my skin is feeling a little congested. I massage into skin and leave on like a mask for a couple of minutes in the shower and it really helps calm any blemishes down. I don’t use it quite as much right now as the weather is getting colder and I find it just a tad to drying to use all the time. Eve Lom Rescue Mask is a great mask to use when my skin is feeling a little inflammed and delicate. Its quite soothing but does dry hard on the skin, so its perfect for when you need a deeper cleanse but don’t want to upset your skin too much. It has a bit of funky smell but nothing as pungent as the Eve Lom Cleanser. Sunday Riley Good Genes is just heaven in a bottle – you can read my previous thoughts of this here.
Repurchase? Yes and have done for all.
The eye products – Oskia Eye Wonder & Indeed Labs Eysilix. Both are nice enough. But they’re both a bit meh for me also. The Eye Wonder was really more serum like and just wasn’t hydrating enough for me (maybe throughout summer would be good?) but its possibly formulated for someone younger than me who has no lines. Oh and also the pump is rubbish on this one. Dispenses waaaaay to much product. The eysilix was just ok. Nothing special. Quite creamy, but no discernible changes to my eyes when using it.
Repurchase? No on both counts.
I really really enjoyed using the First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads. Quick, easy, great for a morning pick me up and pretty inexpensive. I am using other exfoliating toners right now but will go back to this at some point. Alpha H Liquid Gold is another of those cannot live without products. You can read more of my thoughts on this one here.
Repurchase? Yes and have done.
Shiseido sunscreen ahhh how do I count the ways I love thee? I use the Urban Environment Oil Free (unavailable in Australia I picked up mine at Sephora USA) during the Summer and the Extra Smooth Cream (can’t find a link, but I purchase this one at Myers) when the weather cools down and I’m not outside quite as much. I have never had an issue with the Shiseido range of sunscreens and have been using them for years. The Alpha-H Protection Plus 50+ is a newish one for me. I used this during the Spring/Summer when I knew I was going to be in the sun a lot or if I had chemically exfoliated the night previous. Beautiful sunscreen, sinks in perfect, no issue with makeup over top. I hate the pump on this one, once I got about halfway through bottle the pump wouldn’t dispense anymore and I had to unscrew it everytime to use it, but it wouldn’t deter me against purchasing this again.
Repurchase? Done & Done for the Shiseido and come next Summer I will definitely consider the Alpha-H again.
Now, for the couple of makeup items. I had a sample of the YSL Fusion Ink foundation in the shade B30 which happened to be a pretty decent match. I only had one applications worth, so don’t have a hard & fast opinion.
Repurchase? Possibly, but not during winter. This seems much more suited to warmer summer weather.
Anastasia Beverly Hill Brow Wiz – Soft Brown is a fab eyebrows pencil. I have two other colours also but this one was the best match for me.
Repurchase? Likely!
Lancôme Hypnôse Star was a great mascara. Did the job. But I am a real dirty flirt with mascaras. So many too choose from and I forever am looking for the “one”.
Repurchase? Unlikely.
So thats it! Phew. My hands are getting tired from typing now lols. I hope you enjoyed looking at my trash. Now I can throw it out and not look like some crazy hoarder xx
