Favourites #4 August 2015

Another month over and we are now officially into spring! I can’t lie, I’m a winter lover through and through but the transition into spring is quite nice at the moment. We’ve been spending a lot of time in the garden and the flowers are coming out and my favourite tree (Port Wine Magnolia) near to our front door is starting to smell heavenly when the wind blows the right way.

Onto the favourites shall we? Looking back at my last few favourites post I have to admit, that not a lot has really changed. I’m still using and loving loads of these products. But there have been a few pieces that have stood out that little extra during last month that I haven’t shared before, so here we go….

August Beauty Favourites

August Beauty Favourites

First cab off the rank is the Pixi Glow Tonic. I have spoken of my love for this in the past (review here) and it’s one I’ve used a lot lately. I’ve found winter has not been especially kind to my face and some more hardcore exfoliators have just been exasperating my dryness. Pixi Glow Tonic gets the job done a little more gently and my skin has thanked me.

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I really love my end of day ritual of double cleansing the day away over the sink and completing the rest of my nighttime skincare routine. But somedays I’m just tired and over it. It’s those times I just want to jump in the shower and streamline the whole process and that’s when I reach for the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser. Easy to use in the shower, smells fresh and rinses clean. Can a girl ask for much more when she’s dead tired? I think not. The Fresh Soy Face Cleanser is also a really nice morning choice, again, quick and simple to use in the shower.

Radical Skincare Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30

Radical Skincare Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30

SPF is something I’ve trained myself to use daily. I much prefer to use a separate SPF rather than rely on the token amounts included in daily moisturisers or foundation. I’ve really been enjoying the Radical Skincare Skin Perfecting Screen SPF 30 of late. It is the perfect lightweight consistency and sinks into the skin in an instant. There’s no greasiness or stinky SPF smell and it works like a dream under makeup.

Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder

Tom Ford Terra Bronzing Powder

Can Mr Tom Ford do any wrong? After months and months of procrastination I succumbed and picked up the Tom Ford Bronzing Powder in Terra and I’m so so happy I did. This is one of those holy grails I’m afraid to say. I bought the small size and I reckon once I’ve gone though this I’ll be picking up a full size. Stat. No shimmer, just a beautiful bronze hue perfect for the fairer of skins.

Laura Mercier Indiscretion Face Illuminator

Laura Mercier Indiscretion Face Illuminator

Laura Merciers Indiscretion illuminating powder is just a thing of absolute beauty. The stunning waves of highlighter in this compact make this feel completely luxurious.  A golden/coppery highlight that looks stunning fanned onto the high points of the face. Speaking of fanning, my weapon of choice is the Wayne Goss Fan Brush #15. I’m a huge fan of the Wayne Goss brushes as they are just exquisitely made and super soft. They wash up well and are definitely worth the dollars.

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Infamous

Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Infamous

My last pick of August is the Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Crème in Infamous. I’m a complete sucker for a pinky mauvey shade and this one is one of the best. I’d describe the finish as a satin, enough slip and hydration to be comfortable on the lips but without losing lasting power. I will definitely be trying more in this lip range. Sooner rather than later hopefully!

So that about wraps things up for August. What have your recent favourites been? Anything I desperately need to try? Hehe, any excuse for a shop!
