Off Duty FOTD and Samples Talk

I thought today I’d do something a bit different and do kind of a face of the (casual) day post. Being a little bit of makeup addict (?!) I don’t wear the exact same products everyday, I’ve got way too many to play with and I switch the products around daily but the bare bones are the same. There’s no fancy winged eyeliner, no lip pencils, no fuss. This is essentially my look for when I have nothing important going on, no special place to be just doing errands…. Or shopping. Same, same.

Oh, and a sample. I love it when cosmetic counters do samples and even better when they give generous samples. I picked up this little sample tub of Estée Lauder Perfectionist Foundation a little while back and it’s still going strong. This foundation gives beautiful light to medium coverage which I would classify as a satin finish. There’s still some luminosity but it has some decent lasting power. I will definitely be considering a full size at some point.

A powder I’ve been loving lately is the *Bloom Mineral Powder Foundation. I have never been into using powder foundations as actual foundations but I do really like them as a setting powders. I think they are fantastic as they give a bit of extra coverage. This one is a beauty as it gives me an extra boost of luminosity and has a similar effect as the Hourglass Ambient Powders but with coverage and oil control. Hashtag winning.

I have reviews of the Burberry Eye Colour Cream in Dusky Mauve and the Too Faced Love Flush Blush in Baby Love coming very soon so I won’t delve too much into them except to say they are both lovely shades and very easy to wear.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer is a cult favourite for a reason. It’s such a gorgeous matte bronzer for the pale girls amongst us.

As for brows I prefer the natural look (read: I’m too lazy to spend too much time doing them unless I have somewhere really important to go) and I’m firmly devoted to the Hourglass Arch Sculpting Pencil and the clear Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel. Nine times out of ten this is what’s on my brows. Ahh… Who am I kidding? I think it’s about the only thing I use on my brows.

I’ve been really into doing a little bit of an upper tight line lately rather than full on eyeliner (which I truly suck at) or no eyeliner at all. It really does make a difference. My weapon of choice lately has mostly been the Chanel Stylo Yeux in Espresso and I try my very hardest not to stab myself in the eye whilst in the process.

Lashes are courtesy of the  Makeup Forever Smoky Lash, one of the few mascara repurchases I’ve actually made. I like that this can be a little more subtle or add a few layers and you’ve definitely got some volume and thickness.

On my lips I’ve opted for just a slick of a very old favourite the Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Boy. I love the Coco Shine formula, and this shade is so easy to apply, no mirror required just a bit of a MLBB and a bit of shine.

Casual FOTD

Casual FOTD- as you can see the casual look extends to my air-dried not brushed hair!

So not exactly a 5 product face but it’s a very quick and simple makeup look I do often even if I do switch up some of the products or shades.

I hope this post wasn’t too rambly and you’ve made it to the end! Do you try to pick up foundation samples to try out first? Tell me what’s on your face for a causal day?
