Sachajuan Hair

As someone who regularly colour treats her hair, I like to ensure I use quality haircare to not only maintain my colour but also to ensure it’s kept in the best possible condition. No one wants ratty split ends. For the longest time I’ve seen bloggers and Instagrammers singing the praises of Sachajuan hair products. Sachajuan seemed like a brand that not only was producing awesome hair care, they were also not too shabby to look at. Yep. I’m that shallow sometimes. Shampoo has never looked so swank.

When Sachajuan launched in the Australian market I was contacted and asked if I’d like to try a few products… can I get a hell yeah? I was very kindly sent the Sachajuan Cleansing Cream and also a whole boatload of samples of the Ocean Mist Shampoo and Conditioners. First off, true to the Swedish aesthetic the actual bottles are minimalist, chic and functional. I really love this streamlined look.

I’ll start with my impressions of the Sachajuan Cleansing Cream. Intended for those ladies (and mens) who prefer a ‘second day hair’ but possibly can’t actually stretch their hair to second (or third) day without turning into a bit of a greasball. This cleansing cream can be used on the daily to refresh your locks, but still give you a textured volumised look without the need to resort to dry shampoos, volume powders or hair perfumes. That’s right, no conditioner, just one application of the cleansing cream to the roots of your wet hair, massaged and left for a minute and rinsed with warm water. You are directed that it may take a week or so of applications for your hair and scalp to get used to this new way of cleansing. I didn’t really have a ‘settling’ period, I felt the product definitely did it’s thing from the get go. After drying my hair felt clean, but not that silky soft feeling that you get from a conditioner. It quite truly emulated ‘second day hair’. I continued to use daily for a week or so when I really felt I needed to give my hair a good scrub with a shampoo and a deep condition. I went back to using the Sachajuan Cleansing Cream the following week and the results were the same, great textured second day hair. Everyday.

Now I’ll be the first to admit, I don’t have excessively oily hair anyway and can quite easily stick to a max of two hair washes a week. I wear my hair pulled up lot and as a mum at home for half the week I’m not that fussed how much volume my hair has as it’s likely in a top knot anyway. I hazard a guess that I am not the intended market for a product like this. What I will say though after my two solid weeks of testing (and several other in between applications since) is that the Sachajuan Cleansing Cream does exactly what it sets out too. If you are someone who wants that textured look everyday but you have the type of hair that either needs daily washing or your hair is thin/limp you are going to love this. It truly is an innovative product and one I’m glad to have, even if I don’t use it all week every week, it’s a great one to have in the stash for when I need my hair to look refreshed but done.

From the first time I tried the Sachajuan Ocean Mist Shampoo and Conditioner I just knew. The fresh scent, great volume and beachy feel they gave to my hair while feeling completely nourished was a feeling I knew I wanted in my life. So much so, after using my sample sachets only twice I was online buying myself this blue toned shampoo and conditioner duo. It’s summer in Australia at the moment and the Sachajuan Ocean Mist line just makes sense in my head. Also, it’s blue. I love blue. The Ocean Mist line is formulated with Sachajuan’s signature ocean silk technology harnessing natural algaes for shine and surface feel and scented with a fresh fruity floral fragrance (say that out loud 5 times). I can’t profess to understand hair care technology, all I can tell you is how the product performed for me personally. For me, the Ocean Mist line is fabulous. My hair is left clean (obvs) but nourished and moisturised. I don’t need to spend an hour detangling my hair afterwards. Styling afterwards is a breeze. I get fullness and volume (which is always what I want – flat hair on me? Ugh) but I also get shine. I need far less styling products to create a (intended) messy volumised look. I really don’t have a bad word to say about the Ocean Mist Shampoo and Conditioner. I will without a doubt be a repeat customer of these two. Plus now I want to try the Ocean Mist Spray and the Protective Hair Perfume.

Have you tried any Sachajuan products? What’s your favourite hair care line?
