FOTD and It Cosmetics Review – CC Cream, Bye Bye Under Eye and CC Eye

Light bases like tinted moisturisers and all the BB’s, CC’s etc are among my most collected and also my most used. I prefer a lighter coverage and reserve the more medium + bases for occasional makeup as well as if I’m just having a shitty skin day. But more often than not, I’m wearing some type of light base. I’ve had It Cosmetics CC Cream as well as the CC Eye for a while now and recently added the Bye Bye Under Eye so thought I’d do a quick review of this trio as well as a bit of a FOTD.

Let’s talk the It Cosmetics CC Cream. Or if you want to be technical the full product name – It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Color Correcting Full Coverage Cream + Anti Aging Hydrating Serum SPF 50+ …. yada yada yada. Let’s just stick with CC Cream ok? I have this in the shade Light and it’s available in 5 shades (fair, light, medium, tan and dark) and it is a pretty decent match for me. First up the fact it contains SPF 50+ is great and I really like added SPF in tinted moisturiser/BB/CC, the higher the better. I would often still have a dedicated SPF underneath (I’m living through a hot sunny aussie summer… we need all the sun protection we can get!) but it’s always good to have that extra bit. I wouldn’t rely on it solely as the amount of SPF you need to adequately protect your face is around half a teaspoon I believe and there’s no way I slap that much foundation on my face. Onto the coverage, a little really does go a long way and while the feeling is very lightweight there is much pigment here and you are going to get a fair amount more coverage than what you may be used to from a CC cream. I apply this with a Beauty Blender as I find it gives the nicest finish. Speaking of finish – it is fresh and glowy but does require a little powdering through the T-zone (for me anyway) and if you are more combo/oily skin you may want a dusting of powder all over. Longevity is good. I have no problem wearing this for 8 plus hours on an average day and it still looking fine.

The newest undereye concealer to my stash is the It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye in Light. Now this stuff is heavy duty! It is a really thick cream and benefits a lot from warming a little between your fingers before applying to the undereyes. Once I’ve tapped it into the skin really well I like to go over with the Beauty Blender just for extra insurance. I do wish I got the next shade up as I personally find it a bit too light. I use any excess to tap a little around my nose or inbetween eyebrows – any areas with some redness really. I immediately set with powder, especially under my eyes, as I hate seeing any settling into lines. As I am over 30 and do have some little fines lines (boo) I find at some point in the day, no matter what concealer I use, I need to do a little tap and press just to even things out once more. I didn’t find this excessively creasy, in fact it’s probably one of my least creasy concealers. But be warned – you seriously need the teensy tiniest little amount for great coverage. If you are older or have some little lines and you go a bit overboard with applying it – you will look a crepey mess. I made this mistake the first time! It’s definitely a case of less is more.

I picked up the It Cosmetics CC+ Eye at the same time of buying the CC Cream. Beautylish were out of stock of the Bye Bye Under Eye so I thought, what the hell, surely this should be just as great as everyone raves about the Bye Bye. Yeah…. I was wrong. I hate this stuff. The photo of the swatch is so deceiving as applied under the eye you will look like a disco ball (I tried many angles etc – the camera just does not pick it up accurately) I don’t know what I am going to do with this. Maybe I’ll keep it to use as a highlighter? I really can’t give any info on how it wears or lasts as I can’t bring myself to wear it. I guess the only good points are it is a lot easier to blend than the Bye Bye, it has a cooling metal applicator and it is a concealer with SPF 50+. Although using the word ‘concealer’ pains me, as no concealer should contain this much shimmer. Much regret.

The FOTD picture shows me wearing the CC+ Cream and the Bye Bye Under Eye not the CC+ Eye. Other products used were as follows with a quick thought on each

Mecca Cosmetica Soft Focus Smoothing Primer  – Does the job, pores and texture are smoothed!

Make Up Forever Pro Bronze Fusion in 15I – Really like this bronzer, very hard to go overboard as it is softly pigmented.

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek to Chic Blush in First LoveReview here

Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Moonstone – Great highlight for fairer/light skin. Not too subtle.

Giorgio Armani Eye Tint in #9 Cold Copper – Beautiful shade, but even more beautiful formula. One day I will collect all the Eye Tints as they are pigmented, blend easily and DO NOT BUDGE. Love!

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara – Really enjoying this mascara at the moment. One coat for natural lashes and can be built up for a more fluttery effect.

Eye of Horus Bronze Amulet Goddess Pencil – First time using and I applied in the upper tightline. Lasted well. Great dark bronze shade.

MUFE Rouge Artist Natural in N35 – Described by MUFE as an Iridescent Orange Pink, I think of it more as a sheer pink. Nicely hydrating and sheeny. Doesn’t last too long, re-application will be needed as with all sheerer and hydrating formulas.

I hope you enjoyed this post! Have you tried an of the It Cosmetics products? What’s your thought? Also if there are any products mentioned you’d like to hear more about in depth let me know in the comments x
