Empties #6 The Makeup Edition

Excuse the lengthy delay between posts, life has just taken over it seems. Anyway, here we are back with the second part of my Empties posts – It’s the makeup! Makeup is so much more difficult to finish up completely than skin/hair or body so I’m quite happy to have a decent amount, even if it is a little heavy on the mascaras.

Makeup Empties

Diorskin Nude BB Cream – I have had this BB Cream for quite a long while and even though it’s taken ages to finish it is always an accomplishment to finish off a base product. I loved this BB cream when I first bought it as a lightweight base for weekends and minimal makeup days. Dior really should expand the colour range as it is a little bit abysmal that there is only 3 or 4 shades available (dependant on where you live). I had this in 001 which was an ok match for me at my palest and in the summer or when I needed a little more colour I would add a few drops of a bronzing liquid. Would I repurchase? At the moment no, firstly because I own way too many foundations and BB’s and secondly some of the others I own I just like more. It is still a lovely product, but yeah, I just like others better.

Chanel Éclat Lumière Highlighter Pen – I’ve had this Chanel pen for longer than I’d care to admit and it’s pretty much dried up now. It never truly wowed me as a highlighter but wasn’t really concealer worthy either. I won’t be repurchasing.

Make Up For Ever Mist & Fix – I bloody love this stuff. I’m using the Urban Decay setting spray right now but I do prefer the MUFE. I find the Urban Decay spray a little bit more drying on my skin and the MUFE version not quite to so hardcore but it still gives me the longevity that I need. Will I repurchase? I sure will, but I will finish off the UD first.

Make Up For Ever Smoky Lash – Yep, there’s two. I do really enjoy this mascara. Smoky is great description, it’s the kind of mascara that really thickens up the natural lashes and is almost clumpy in a good way. I’m not so into really whispy kind of lashes I prefer them a little more dramatic so this one suits me well. Will I repurchase? Already have!

YSL Baby Doll Mascara – This one was just ok. I don’t love thin plastic wands and prefer a more bristly brush, I find they usually give me more of the effect I’m after. The YSL just seemed a little weak to me. Oh, and it dries out quick! Not going to repurchase.

Charlotte Tilbury Full Fat Lashes – This one is another winner for me. It’s got a nice big fat brush and does a little bit of everything – length, fullness and blackness. I have already repurchased ages ago and have the backup in my drawer ready to go!

Bourjois Volume 1 Seconde Mascara – Hands down my favourite drugstore mascara. I already have another of this as well as a waterproof version. It gives me a very similar effect to the MUFE and CT and is way cheaper. Winner winner.

Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara – This one I had in a sample size and I was really impressed. It was black enough and gave me the volume and thickness that I really like. It hold a curl well and pretty much does what it says it’s going to do. Will I re/purchase? Maybe. If I’m feeling like I want to get spendy on a mascara one day this one would definitely be on the cards.

All done. After such a lot of mascaras in this post I’d love to know what your favourite mascara is! There are mascaras I really enjoy, but I still feel like I’m looking for “the one” you know? So what mascara can you not live without? Slightly dramatic  I know!
