A Ridiculous Amount of Empties Part One

All the empties!

All the empties!

Oh hey, remember me? I’ve finally decided to put pen to paper, well in reality that’s fingers to keyboard but lets not get technical. I’m writing a blog post, yay me! In all honesty I’ve just been enjoying my new baby boy and computer time has been hard to come by. My iPhone is literally with me all the time so Instagram & Snapchat have been easier to keep up with. Anyway, enough with my rambles, I have an absolutely huge mountain of beauty empties so this will be part one. Let’s get into it.

Philosophy Shower Gel and Body Lotion

Philosophy Shower Gel and Body Lotion

Philosophy Field of Flowers Gardenia Blossom Shower Gel & Body Lotion

Oh wow, I have had this combo for the longest time. I never used it exclusively and it has taken forever to get through both of these it felt like. I loved the scent of each and the lotion was pretty nice. I am not particularly loyal to any specific body products and these look to have been either a seasonal release or discontinued now, so there won’t be a repurchase.

Bioderma

Pretty standard. I will always have this staple. I use it quickly remove the bulk of my makeup of an evening before going in with double cleansing. Works as a decent eye makeup remover in a pinch, but I do prefer a dedicated eye makeup remover. Already repurchased!

Nude Perfect Cleanse Omega Cleansing Jelly

I feel like I liked this cleanser more when I first got it, but by the end of it, I was just bored. I know that’s weird to say about a skincare product, but it never truly wowed me. I mean, it did the job, but it was never one of my ‘ermagod can’t wait to get it on ma face’ cleansers. I won’t be repurchasing anytime soon.

Alpha H Liquid Laser Cleansing Oil

The name of this cleanser is perhaps slightly misleading. It should not be called an oil. I was actually expecting you know, an oil. This is straight up a gel. It does melt down on your face once applied, but it’s even more ‘gel like’ than the Oskia Renaissance Cleansing Gel. I didn’t particularly like this one as a makeup remover/ first cleanse, but a morning or second it was nice enough. Like the Nude, I ended up a tad bored by the end, so at this point I am not repurchasing.

Skyn Iceland Pure Cloud Cleanser

You know, this was another I thought I was ‘bored’ with, but the longer it gets that I haven’t been using it, the more I think about perhaps repurchasing. I originally got this in a Caroline Hirons Cult Beauty Box and it is a cream cleanser. There’s no fancy scents, it’s actually rather basic in reality, but sometimes my skin just craves a little gentle cream cleansing with no bells and whistles. I am considering repurchasing. Previously posted about this cleanser here.

Sunday Riley Luna Sleeping Night Oil

I adore this treatment oil. Technically it is a retinol in oil form, rather than an oil with retinol so it is meant to be used on bare skin after cleansing rather than as an oil overtop of your night treatments. I had great results using this, as the sometimes harsh effects of retinol use are lessened by the oil it is encapsulated in. Funny smell, but fabulous treatment! I don’t have to repurchase as I already had prior to pregnancy so I have a fresh bottle waiting for me. Previously posted about Luna here.

Verso Super Eye Serum

I picked this up on an overseas website along with the face serum in a pack when it was on some kind of special offer or discount. I was using it prior to becoming pregnant and stopped obviously throughout pregnancy. Unfortunately the eye serum didn’t like the 9 month hiatus and has turned a bit off. From what I remember, it was a pretty effective retinol treatment but was a little more drying and for lack of a better word a little more ‘harsh’ than something like the Luna. I’m not repurchasing at the moment as I have enough retinol products that I am trying right now.

Skinstitut Ultra Firming Eye and Neck Cream

Skinstitut is an Australian brand which seems to be stocked mainly in salons/spas but is available online also. The range is great quality at a really reasonable price point. This particular cream I only ever used as an eye cream and I found it incredibly hydrating for my dry under eyes and I will definitely be repurchasing at some point (I just have other things to work through first). Highly recommend if you have dry skin, or are just after something solely hydrating for the under eye area.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye

While I absolutely love the EL ANR face serum I’m not as big of a fan of the eye version. I like it, but I need something a bit extra. I didn’t notice any dramatic results while using it and it’s just not hydrating enough for under my eyes so I won’t be repurchasing.

Radical Skincare Eye Revive Cream

This little 5ml tube lasted me the longest time! I have written about the Eye Revive Cream recently here, but long story short, I really like the eye cream. The brand makes huge claims on their products which is not something that catches my attention (well not for a good reason anyway). My eyes tend to glaze over when brands start claiming ‘98% of users noticed a …..blah blah’ but if you have cash to splash, it’s a pretty good eye cream.

Oskia Renaissance 360 Anti Aging &  Brightening Supreme Cream

I received this cream in another Cult Beauty bag/offer as an exclusive preview prior to its launch. I have written about it further here. Yes I loved it. Yes I already repurchased!

By Terry Baume de Rose

I’ve written about my love for this little magic pot here and I just cannot be without. I love it and yes I know it’s stupid priced but I don’t care.

Chanel N05 Eau Première

Oh Chanel, you do produce some of the most beautiful fragrances of all time. This lighter version of the original number 5 is one of my all time fave perfumes. The packaging has since changed and it is now available in a 50ml & 100ml rather than this giant sized 150ml. Repurchase? No need, I already have another bottle on the go.

So that’s all. Well actually, I lie. That’s half. Cause this is a two part-er remember. So stay tuned, I’ll be back soon with the second half.
