Gazelli Skincare is the brainchild of Dr Zarifa Hamzayeva and is a forty year in the making project. Originally from Azerbaijan she started her career out in Advanced Gene Science, Diagnostics and Preventative Medicine but eventually was the pioneering force behind the countries very first cosmetic manufacturing facility. Her business has since grown and she launched Gazelli House in Azerbaijan in 1999 which offered her clients a scientific and medical approach to their skin treatments featuring her patented White Oil skin-regernating ingredient. Expanding her business alongside her daughter they launched their brand in 2011 in Harrods and their products are now available at the Urban Retreat as well as their own website along with treatments being available at Gazelli House in London – I wish I lived closer to be able to experience the spa! I have included some information that was supplied in regard to the patented Gazelli White Oil below.
The Gazelli White Oil™ is an organic compound, structured with a cyclopentanoperhydrophenanthrene nucleus, making it therefore similar in its chemical base structure to naturally occurring hormones found in the human body. This unique characteristic enables the ingredient to understand, mimic and stimulate the skin’s natural functions. Working in synergy with the skin, the oil triggers key processes which protect the skin from free radical aggression, increase the metabolic rate of cells, boost microcirculation and stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin. Gazelli White Oil™ acts as a source of new energy for the skin, creating the perfect conditions for accelerated cell regeneration. As the skin ages its ability to regenerate slows, it loses elasticity and the ability to hold moisture. The groundbreaking Gazelli White Oil™ contains a high concentration of physiologically active components that increase metabolic processes at cellular level, improving skin’s ability to regenerate itself and absorb nutrients and oxygen. The skin’s natural capacities are restored, so that skin can retain moisture and regain youthful elasticity, collagen production and health.
Gazelli Triple Youth White Oil Bi Phase Makeup Remover for Eyes and Lips* This has got to be the least oily bi phase remover I have ever used. Is that a bad thing? Well, no. No, it isn’t. A soaked cotton pad applied to my eye area easily lifts off any eyeshadow and mascara I am wearing. I don’t wear heavy eye makeup, but this remover makes just as light work of removal as my Clarins Instant Remover. It is virtually unscented and doesn’t cause any sting or irritation to my eyes. Can you ask for more?
Gazelli Triple Youth White Oil Skin Balancing Cleanser* is the only product of the three that I am not super-in-love-with. I think it comes down to the fact that I am not a huge fan of cleansers which use SLS as a foaming agent (a line my 25 year old self would have balked at). Going back to then I would only ever buy and use cleansers that were foams. I didn’t feel like my skin was clean unless I had that tight and squeaky clean feeling. Obviously my tastes have changed and I far prefer an oil or balm to cleanse my skin but hoards of people the world over love foaming cleansers . I try to keep an open mind when trialling products and focus more on the results a product gives me, rather than an ingredient list. In saying that, this is not a bad cleanser, just not a must have. Despite the SLS inclusion my skin does feel quite nourished as far as a foamy cleanser goes (other ‘foamy’ cleanser I use are the Omorovicza Cleansing Foam and Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip – although both do not use SLS as their foaming agent) and ingredients such as White Oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Chestnut Extract, Eucalyptus Extract and Aloe Vera Extract seem to counteract any drying properties and soothe the skin. It’s still not a cleanser I would personally use every day (but I wouldn’t use any foam everyday anyway). A pump or two is all that is needed to cover my face and it is quite a lovely morning cleanse and the scent is intoxicating and exotic. Hopefully one day they will expand the range to include maybe a milk or oil/balm cleanser – I think that would be a winner!
Lastly the product that I did fall a little in love with is the Gazelli Skincare Triple Youth White Oil Ultra Nourishing Saviour Mask*. Now this is a product I can really get on board with! A deeply nourishing mask that brightens, plumps and tones the skin – I apply this as a night cream (or overnight mask, if you will) and I love the results come morning. It does everything it says it will. Again, it is scented beautifully which makes the entire experience of applying it and also inhaling as I am drifting off to sleep a joy. As far as hydrating/plumping masks go this one is up there with similar results to others I love such as the Caudalie Moisture Mask and GlamGlow Thirsty Mud.
Have you heard of, or tried anything from Gazelli Skincare? Or better yet, do you live in London and have experienced Gazelli House?
*Gazelli Skincare very kindly sent me three of their products to trial.
