If there’s one luxury makeup line doing it for me right now it’s Burberry Beauty. The line epitomises laid back causal elegance. Classic and beautifully curated colours that just speak to me. The stunning packaging doesn’t hurt either.
Express delivery from Net-A-Porter (delivered to my door within 36 hours) made me one very happy girl! I am always in awe of how fast they deliver. Fastest.Shipping.Ever.
First up is the Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream in shade number 02 Nude Honey and the Burberry Fresh Glow Fluid in Golden Radiance. What a match made in light coverage heaven. I apply the Fresh Glow Golden Radiance onto my face, concentrating on the centre and high point of my face to create a beautiful subtle glow. If you’ve ever tried the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer, the effect is somewhat similar but in a less obvious, more refined way. I then apply the Burberry Fresh Glow BB Cream with finger tips. This stuff just melts into the skin. Truly a beautiful BB cream. The coverage is light, I still need a little concealer over redness around my nose, but I think it provides pretty decent coverage for a BB cream.
The effect of the two together is beautiful. Perfect for weekends or when you don’t need high coverage. I found that by setting with a bit of power over the t-zone I am getting around 6 hours of wear without the need to touch up. I’m happy with that.
This one’s been on my radar for a good while. As a reasonably fair skinned lass I had heard the Burberry Light Glow Blush in Earthy works for contouring. Well let me say, it does not disappoint. I’m not talking about a Kim K type of contour. I’m just talking about a light sweep of something under the cheekbones and around the face perimeter to create a little more definition and dimension. Not quite a bronzer, not quite a contour. But a beautiful addition nonetheless.
The above picture features one product I’m in love with and one that maybe I’m not so much…. Burberry Kisses in 33 Rose Pink is the perfect “my lips but better” shade for me. I can’t really do a “nude nude” I need a little colour. This works for me. Love this. Wear time is reasonable for a non-matte formula. The colour payoff is sheer but easily built up. I have worn this one pretty much all week and have found it to be creamy and easy to apply (no mirror required). It hasn’t dried my lips out at all. Really really nice formula and I’m looking forward to picking up a bolder colour next.
The Burberry Fresh Glow Blush in 22 Pink Peony. Hmm. I’m not sure about this one. Let me start off by saying, sheer just got sheerer. I kind of hope I may have just got a dud (which I’ll check out on the weekend at a counter) because this seriously lacks pigment. It might look all pink and rosy but yeah, nothing on the cheeks. I tried building this up on my arm and about 15 back and forth swipes later I’m still left with….pretty much nothing. It’s not a cream type texture either. I can’t even quite explain it. It just kind of sucks truth be told. Like I said, I’m going to check it against the counter stock on Saturday, so I guess I’ll know for sure then. Fingers crossed thats not how they intended the product to be. I can live getting a dud, but if this is what they intended it to be then thats not real good!
So tell me, have you tried Burberry Beauty? What’s your highlight? Or dud as it may be?
