Diorskin Nude Air – Review

Diorskin Nude Air, oh my, it’s love at first application. I’m not sure why it took me so long to try this one after such a good experience with the Diorskin Star foundation.

The Diorskin Nude Air is marketed as a “serum” foundation. Now, I have only used it a handful of times, so cannot speak to any skin benefits Dior may claim have on this product. I rotate this along with plenty of others so any “skincare” claims makeup brands may have about their bases are of little concern to me. I get my skincare from my actual skincare, but its a lovely addition should some of the good stuff be added to my foundations. But really, I am more looking at a products performance when choosing a foundation.

Well enough of that waffle, how does the Diorskin Nude Air stack up? Firstly, I adore this foundation. It has a dropper applicator and is one of these new light as air (hence the name) formulas. A few drops gets you to a light/medium coverage and can be built up to a lovely medium finish. I find application with fingers to be the best method and also to work in sections as it dries down pretty quickly. For reference I have this in shade 20. The finish is like real skin, so so pretty. My favourite finish is a satin so this is a winner in my book. An SPF of 25 is ok, but I would always apply a dedicated sunscreen underneath. .

The photo above represents the product on my skin with no primer and a touch of setting powder over top and a little blush. Taken on my iPhone and not altered or filtered so do please excuse my baggy eyes, it had been a rough night the night before! And yes, I’m still in pyjamas with a headband holding my hair back, I had just finished applying and went outside to see it in the real light because my bathroom has rubbish (read: none) natural light.

I literally have nothing bad to say about the Diorskin Nude Air foundation. I think I’ve found something that I love as much as Chanel Perfection Lumière Velvet. This base is just about perfection for me. As an everyday or a special occasion it performs well. Although for me, this will be more of an everyday/work type base. Long lasting with only minor touch ups at the 8ish hour mark I am very pleased with the Diorskin Nude Air. The bottle is a stunner too sitting on the dresser 😉

Diorskin Nude Air can be found in Australia at David Jones & Myer (it’s on the counter, but not their online) for $79 and in the US at Sephora (you lucky lucky americans) for $53.
