The acquisition of Burberry Beauty’s Burberry Kisses in Military Red was one spurred on by none other than Stacey from Expat Makeup Addict. Her tempting Lip Six posts are always a good test of self control and in this instance, I had none. Oops.

Now, I am not a regular red lipped wearing lass. I will almost always go for the pinky or mauve shades. But there was something about this particular red that just had to be mine. So off I went and ordered one from Net-a-Porter and apart from swatching it and having a quick try-on, it has sat, unloved on my dresser waiting for the day I would be brave enough to face the world with a bold red lip.

Then along came my inspiration in the form of Anne from Linda.Libra.Loca and suddenly I just knew this week was it. I was going to do a red. On a Monday. To work. Huh…? Say what?!

The Burberry Kisses formula is good’un. Hydrating but not overly slippy and will stay on the lips for quite a number of hours before fading away pretty evenly. Reapplication is a breeze, in an 8 hour day, I touched it up twice. I don’t think that’s bad at all considering it’s not a matte and I wore no liner underneath.
