I remember when I was a little girl swiping sprays of my mums Chanel No. 5 and when I was older lusting after her Chanel Vitalumiere Foundation (which I am myself a big fan of now). Chanel ended up becoming the first high end brand I ever bought and was a brand I probably bought exclusively from during my early and mid 20’s. I’ve obviously expanded my horizons these days but Chanel is a brand that will always hold a special place in my heart (and my purse). The Les Beiges line of products has been one that I’ve adored since buying my first Healthy Glow Sheer Powder Compact and all the products that have been released from this line since have just been the epitome of understated glamour.
Last week while having a little bit of a cosmetics moment in Myer (more posts to come) I chanced across the Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Colour Stick in No. 21. While having a play with the other two shades – a bronzer and a coral- I decided this one had to be mine. Applied directly from the stick to the cheeks and patted in with fingers it gives a subtle wash of pink for a healthy flush or it can be built up little by little for a more dramatic flush. The finish is described as a velvet and there is no shimmer to speak of, just a gorgeous natural looking glow. I can see that throughout the summer months I will be alternating this stick with the Tom Ford Pink Sand Cream Blush on the days I want a little more shimmer. Cream blushes in summer are just so much easier and more natural looking to wear.
The Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Sheer Shadow Stick is one to keep an eye out for if you’re into cream blushes it’s truly beautiful on the face. Good news is you don’t have to worry about rushing out and get it before the limited edition disappears as Chanel have made these sticks permanent. The bummer part of this is that they have/are in the process of discontinuing their original Le Blush Crème de Chanel line. I’d heard the rumours and the Chanel consultant confirmed it for me. Sobs. So if you loved the original Le Blush Crème de Chanel you best go and get a back up for your stash as apparently once the stock they are holding is gone that’s it.
Once again, I apologise for the lack of a swatch shot, my swatching photography skills absolutely suck, but I’m working on it!
