Streamlined Skincare For When A Case Of The Lazys Strike

Even the most dedicated skincare fanatic among us has one of those days. It’s 10.30pm and you’ve been running here there and everywhere. Work, kids, house, chores yadda yadda. You finally collapse on the couch ready for some Netflix and chill and you almost can’t bear to peel yourself up to take a shower and wash all that makeup and grime off your face. We’ve all been there. Well I hope we all have. I sure as heck have one of those nights at least weekly. What’s a girl (or guy) to do? I have you covered. Here’s my streamlined skincare for a case of the lazys!

Omorovicza Cleansing Foam, Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip

Once I’ve managed to surgically extract myself from the lounge, half the battle is already won. Even if I am feeling super lazy and I’m wearing makeup I am committed to doing a double cleanse. It might not be as lengthy and massagy as normal (is that a word? It is now) and I may skip the whole ‘at the basin’ thing. But I will cleanse twice. Lazy tip – Get yourself undressed, chuck a face cloth in the shower, grab an oil based cleanser and massage while the shower is getting warm (not hot- please don’t burn your face) and remove with your flannel in the shower. Now as for the second cleanse I always keep an easy to rinse off cleanser or two in the shower for times like these. At the moment the two cleansers I have living in the shower are Sunday Riley Ceramic Slip  (spoken about here and here) and Omorovicza Cleansing Foam. Both brilliant for just rinsing clean. Cleansing in the shower – total time saver.

Once I’m out of the shower I’ve usually escaped the lazys and I’m good to go with my normal skincare regime, but then there’s other times when I’m completely over it and just want to crawl back to my comfy spot. It’s those times that call for something quick yet effective. Dry your face off and instead of doing the whole acid/mist/serum/eye/cream apply a supercharged facial oil and be done with it. Use a separate eye cream if you must. For the lazy night oils I like Sunday Riley Juno, Clarins Blue Orchid Oil or Sarah Chapman Overnight Facial (spoken about here).

You’re done. Collapse back on that couch and get some quality Netflix in.

As for lazy skincare mornings, or as I like to call them ‘oh shit I’ve slept in and need to be ready in 12.5 seconds flat’ there’s nothing wrong with the occasional few swipes of a micellar water like Bioderma. Save the daytime acids/mists/serums for tomorrow and apply your day cream of choice, I really like Kate Sommerville Nourish (spoken about here). Oh, and if I’m going to be wearing any makeup or concealer under my eyes I have to do an eye cream otherwise the skin under my eyes gets too dry. I’ve really been loving the Resultime 5 Expertise Eye Cream (more about it here) it’s lovely and creamy and hydrating.

You’re almost good to go, Don’t forget your SPF though!

How do you power through a lazy moment? Do you skip skincare altogether (oh the horror) or streamline? Tell me your tips for quick skin!
