Face masks… a firm favourite skincare ritual of mine. Now although having a new little bub I don’t have the time to indulge right at this moment, I had taken the photographs prior to giving birth so will have to make do with writing about them rather than applying them. Boo.
First up is the ever strange Ilcsi Sour Cherry & Blackthorn Gel Mask. Literally you will feel like you are slapping cherry jam all over you face. I say this in the best possible way as the results after using this really are beautiful. Irritation, redness or tight skin is soothed, this truly is a bit of a rescue mask. The scent is quite strong but if you can get over that it really is a bit of a wonder mask. My previous review here and it can be bought from Cult Beauty.
My go-to clay mask is most certainly the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask. This is like a day spa in a jar. Formulated with Hungarian Moor Mud this works to deeply cleanse the pores of toxins and impurities all without drying my skin out. If you have dry skin and don’t love how drying clay masks can be this could be the one for you. Not a cheap mask, but I find a little goes a long way and I love to apply this with a flat foundation brush just to make it feel even more decadent.
A blogger favourite is the Oskia Renaissance Mask and it really does deserve its hype. Whenever I need a bit of brightening or want an exfoliating type mask, this is where I head to. Another mask with an intoxicating scent, it really is a treat for the senses as well as the skin. The result is smoothed, soft skin that literally glows with health. Spoken about previously here.
For an overnight moisture injection it has to be the Caudalie Moisturising Mask. I like to apply this instead of a night cream or oil after my normal skincare routine every now and then when my skin is feeling less than plump. I really enjoy the soft clean scent and although the texture is rather thick it does settle into the skin after a few minutes. The tube does instruct you to remove excess with a tissue after 15 mins, but I have never had to do this.
Lastly is the Chantecaille Jasmine and Lily Healing Mask which is pretty much my can’t live without, holy grail, desert island product. This solves a multitude of skin issues for me. Redness? Gone. Irritation? Gone. Hydration? Plump skin. The texture and the heavenly scent are just perfection. I know when I use this at night, I will wake to much improved calm and balanced skin. Previously talked about here.
I need more face masks like hole in head….so why not enable me… What’s your favourite mask?
