Let’s just kick it old school here for a minute while I bang out this post and let you all in on what I bought recently. If this were truly old school, Instagram would not have had the influence over me lol- but its 2019 and Instagram is everywhere- you can’t escape it. Speaking of, there are a number of brands that are totally hyped by Instagram, I mean Glossier anyone…? Unfortunately for me, Glossier doesn’t ship to Australia but two major products have launched here recently that I had to get my mitts on. We’re talking Krave Beauty Great Barrier Relief and Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask. Insert drool here.
Krave Beauty is a completely new brand to me that I only just discovered is stocked at Heartdrops which is an Australian website that stocks both J & K beauty brands. I actually only ordered the Great Barrier Relief serum and the Matcha Hemp Hydrating Cleanser but when my order was delivered it must have been packed incorrectly as instead of GBR I got Kale-Lalu-yAHA. Heartdrops were amazing and immediately sent out a GBR and told me to keep the KLY. Customer service was a 5 star experience and FYI my Aussie babes – postage was super quick.
Krave Beauty was founded by Liah You, herself an Instagram/Youtube Influencer who has turned her love of beauty (and using more simplified routines) into her own brand and will tell you straight to USE LESS. The line is a tight edit with just a cleanser, AHA toner, SPF/antioxidant cream and now the newest release – Great Barrier Relief Serum – which totally spiked my interest at the very first news of it. GBR is a serum that is aimed at resetting your skin when or after you are experiencing irritation ( dry, red, sensitive, stressed, damaged skin barrier). This is the kind of the thing I always like to have on hand.
Key ingredients are Tamanu Oil (aids in reducing pigmentation, supports skin regeneration, would healing) Safflower and Rosehip oil (skin nourishing and light weight oils – rich in linoleic to restore healthy skin barrier functions. Natural Moisturising Factors (NMF) ceramides, cholesterol, Squalane – all super important to mimic a healthy skin barrier and one of my fave ingredients of all time Niacinamide – which Krave describes perfectly as the soccer mum who can do everything – age prevention, reducing inflammation, brightening the skin and of course is key in restoring skin barrier function.
Keen as mustard to try all these out ASAP – keep an eye out on instagram for skincare routines and I will try to update here also.
Ok, so next on my shopping list was the Youth to the People Superberry Hydrate + Glow Dream Mask. Now this is ALL OVER insta and I have been googly-eyed over it for months. Sephora Australia finally released here and I rushed to try it (also picking up the Superfood Firm and Brighten Serum just for fun you know). After such huge success with the Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream (soothing, hydrating and calming – one of the most well-suited moisturisers for my skin) plus the instagram frenzy over it – I have sky-high hopes for the Dream Mask. I haven’t even put it on my face yet, but the rich texture of the cream feels super nourishing and comforting – this will be on my face tonight you better believe!
I haven’t really tried the Superfood Antioxidant Cleanser or the Superfood Air Whip cream even though I have had them since November – a friend in the US sent me a sale bundle that was available – I also had a tiny travel size of the Superfood Mask but I cannot for the life of me find it anywhere.
Have you tried Krave or YTTP? Wanted to but haven’t yet? Let’s talk and you can tell me to try all of this immediately. Because the feeling I am getting is both these brands are beloved for good reason.
