As a lover of all things beauty, at times, I do fall for the hype. Which really sucks when products don’t live up to their ‘put on a pedestal status’. The other thing that really sucks about falling for the hype is when a lot of these beautiful lotions and potions are not available to you. Living in Australia, sometimes, I find that some stuff is just damn.hard.to.get. Enter Pixi Glow Tonic.
Did I fall for hype? Yes. Does it live up to it? Quite possibly.
Pixi Glow Tonic is an exfoliating toner. If you read beauty blogs then I’m pretty sure you would likely have heard of Mrs Caroline Hirons. I blame her for my ever expanding bathroom cabinet and wish list the length of my arm (or two). Love her. Ok, got a little sidetracked. Back to Pixi. To use Pixi Glow Tonic, after cleansing just dampen a cotton pad and get to swiping all over your face, neck and décolletage. For the past 2 weeks I have done this mornings and evenings with the exception of Mondays nights which is my “bring out the big guns” Alpha H Liquid Gold night.
Pixi Glow Tonic uses glycolic acid to gently remove dead skin cells to reveal a brighter, clearer more toned appearance to the skin. It contains no alcohol, so it is not harsh or stripping of the skin. Literally, I feel no tingle when applying. I have fairly sensitive skin and I can use this no problem morning and night.
So, do I think it makes any difference? Look, to be honest, it hasn’t transformed my skin overnight. My skin has been lovely and smooth and I have had no breakouts from using it. As far as improvement goes, it’s slightly better, but that could be any combination of things. I’ve only used it 2 weeks running so far so cannot attest to any long term results. I do really enjoy using it and I feel it most definitely has an edge on the last daily exfoliating treatment I used. I will continue to use it day and night for the foreseeable future so will form a better opinion as time goes by.
I will say this, it smells delicious and I’m quite happy swiping this one all around my face twice a day. Will I repurchase? Hmm, unsure so far-If I could get ahold of it easy enough I may. But, there’s so many of these types of exfoliating swipeys to try and I like to shop around.
I purchased mine from This is Beauty Mart. Shipping to Australia was quick and it arrived well packed. It did cost me 20GBP to have it sent-but don’t worry, I purchased a few other things to make the shipping fee worth it 😉
Have you tried Pixi Glow Tonic or similar? Do you pay extortionate shipping fees when you really really really want to try something?
