Night Time Skincare Routine Demo

How many steps do you have in your nighttime routine? The demo below is a fairly average amount for me. So let’s go through what’s in my PM routine and which skincare steps go where. This routine would work best as a night skincare routine for dry skin – which is what I am! Obviously you don’t need to follow step by step, product by product, but if you are in need of a bit of inspo into building the steps for a night skincare routine I hope this helps.

I always start with a double cleanse – yep, even if I’ve not worn any makeup. Gotta get that SPF off. SPF is designed to really adhere to the skin, so one cleanse often won’t cut it.

Once my skin is clean and dry, a few times a week I will do a couple of rounds of LED Treatment with my DDG Faceware Pro. This is without a doubt a large investment for a skincare tool, but its the ONE that I have to have. Whether or not LED treatment is worth it or not for you is a personal choice. I think I need to write a long form post about this one.

Next up I either mist or essence. Sometimes both. Let’s get CRAZY! A nice damp skin surface will help the penetration of your next steps. Feel free to mist between steps if you like to lock in even more moisture.

Ok, onto serums. This time around I stuck with two Allies of Skin serums that really hit for me. The first is the Triple Hyaluronic Antioxidant Hydration Serum – so this gives me loads of hydration plus the benefits of antioxidants, also this is a brilliant day serum if you find using a Vitamin C too much. You’ll still get the benefits of antioxidant protection but it’s less irritating.

The Mandelic Pigmentation Corrector Night Serum is a huge fave of mine for a gentle overnight resurface. The Mandelic and Lactic in the serum are on the milder end of AHA’s and are less likely to cause irritation plus there’s the added benefit of Salicylic (BHA) acid if I’m feeling a little congestion or bumpiness from blocked pores.

Eye Cream – because I have already applied an “active” to my skin, I’ll keep my eye cream choice to a mid-weight hydrating cream.

At the time of filming this I was doing a comparison between two “soothing” type moisturisers. More info to come on these two. It’s in my drafts.
